Tim and Nancy are more than just good friends. They belong to our family as we belong to theirs. I’m using Tim’s name in the present tense because even though he is no longer with us physically, his memory and spirit are still very much alive in our hearts. It’s been “Tim and Nancy” for so long that it’s hard to say one name without saying the other. Looking back through the years, we shared so much in common with Tim and Nancy: We’ve been close friends since high school. After high school, Tim married a wonderful girl from Salpointe High School. So did I. Mary and I were God-parents to Tim and Nancy’s first daughter, Terri Jo. Tim and Nancy were God parents to our first daughter, Ann. Tim and I shared similar work ethics. While Tim started and ran his own “Arctic Desert” radiator shop, I started my welding shop. Every once in a while we found that we needed each other’s services. And it was always fun for us two young entrepreneurs commiserating with each other, especially grousing about our cash flow and why none of it ever seemed to stick. But one thing that did stick were Tim’s seemingly endless supply of stories ranging from his time in the Navy, to the latest of life’s adventures that he and Nancy had experienced. Speaking of adventures, one day, Tim and Nancy drove up our driveway in a really cool looking little Class B Motorhome, a Pleasureway. Tim allowed as how this was the vehicle that they intended for travel. And boy, did they travel. Then the bug hit Mary and me. After all, we had to keep up with the Mosmans. After finding a Pleasureway of our own, we started planning joint trips that took us from Patagonia Lake to meeting up as far as Humbug State Park in Oregon. Very special times! There were also trying times that Tim and I had the dubious distinction of sharing. Several years ago I came down with a type of leukemia that, by the grace of God, was treated successfully. Unfortunately, about two years ago, Tim came down with a more serious form of leukemia. But, being the fighter that he was, and thanks the love of Nancy who said “I’m not ready to let him go yet”, and the prayers of his family and friends, as well as great medical care, Our Lord blessed us all with sharing two more years of life with Tim – which he lived to the fullest including more time with family and friends and, of course, traveling with Nancy in their little motorhome aka “Roamer”. And so, we’ve had quite a journey together dear friend, and now, you’re on the greatest journey of all. Vaya con Dios, Tim, my compadre Bill Bourland

To Nancy and family, I am so sad to her of Tim's passing. He was truly a wonderful man. My mom and Dad became friends with you and Tim during the 70's with Marriage Encounter -- a friendship that was truly precious to them. You were always very special to them. We're thinking of all of you and know that his was a life that was well-lived and beautifully rewarded. With love and affection, Terry Stutz (Wanda and OD Scott's daughter)
