Obituary of Marlena Ann Ferrara

Marlena Ann Ferrara, 71, died Sunday, October 13, 2019, in Tucson, Arizona. She was born August 17, 1948 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to David Eugene and Philomena "Phyliss" Santangelo Ferrara. She relocated to Tucson with her family in 1952 at the age of 4. Marlena will be remembered for her fierce and unconditional love for her children and grandchildren, as well as a bright and beautiful personality. Her bold approach to embracing life was an inspiration to so many who had the joy of knowing her. Marlena shared a love of antiques and Native American artifacts with her mom and loved working in her mother's store. Marlena loved the arts. She was always found to be sketching on notepads and musing about the beauty of life. She often signed her correspondence with "Be Kind". Just like her mother, she loved to sing and dance and always kept up with the latest music. Survivors include two daughters, Cristin Grant (partner Miguel) Los Angeles, CA and Jennifer Grant Bonebright (spouse Jeff) Phoenix; three grandchildren, Tyler Grant, Audrey Marie and Leah Carmela Bonebright Phoenix; sister in law Nancy Ferrara Tucson; nieces Christy Ann, Patti Jean, Robin, Kiley, Allison, Leslie and Carrie; nephews Mark, Bobby, Dana and David; and her beloved poodle, Baby. A celebration of life, and service, will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Cyril, 4725 E Pima Street, Tucson, AZ 85712.
