Obituary of Thomas John Peters
Thomas John Peters, 62 of Oro Valley, AZ passed away on September 16, 2019. He was surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Sep. 8, 1957 to James and Jean (Thomas) Peters in Chicago, IL. He studied music in college and eventually followed his brother and sistere-in law, Jim and Maureent to Tucson, where he began a career in the health insurance industry. He eventually landed at UMC/Banner where he has been for 17 years, the last three as a Business Analyst for the Emergency Department.
Tom loved to shoot hoops, and would play pick up games wherever he could or shoot with kids on the block. He dearly loved his guitar and played with bands, composed or played for his kids.He loved to dance and go to concerts. He also played softball, always in outfield where his coach said, "I would just let him run, he's like a greyhound". He also was a volunteer coach for special needs children's baseball at El Conquistador Field of Dreams.He loved to travel and was always up for a hair raising adventure.
Tom is survived by his wife Annette, and his children Lily Jean and Jacob Elijah. He is also survived by his brother Jim and brother and sister in law Bill and Sherry Peters, nieces and nephews, many loving cousins and uncles and aunts. He also leaves the co-workers and friends that were so important to him in these last months. Their kindness and support will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his father. James Robert Peters and mother, Mary Jean (Thomas) Peters.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, September 22 at 3 PM at Congregation Or Chadash, 3939 N. Alvernon Way, Tucson AZ 85718. A meal of condolence will take place at 6 PM at the home, text (520)818-8843 for information.
