MarJean was such a wonderful grandmother to my children Jonathan, Kristen and Adam. Always so thoughtful remembering special occasions with thoughtful gifts and encouragement. MarJean was also a wonderful mother-in-law giving me encouragement in my roll as a wife, mother and most of all my roll as a farmers wife. I will never forget when Jonathan was not happy with me not getting his way while I was tending to his little sister Kristen. Jonathan with all his might said, I’m going to Grandma Jean’s. Since we lived in Buffalo, ND and MarJean lived in Arizona I knew this statement was only out of Jon’s frustration in not getting his way. It wasn’t too long after I saw a pickup entering the yard with Monte’s cousin Jim Wilcox. Inside the cab was Jonathan. Jim said while in the tractor he spotted Jonathan walking along the road. When Jim asked Jon where he was going he said “to Grandma Jean’s house”. Grandma and Jonathan had a special bond. I was blessed to have been apart of her life. God bless.
