Ann Larsen posted a condolence
.A Sunday long ago when he was struggling because of neck pain, Wendell remembers how it became so intense that he got up, came down off the stand and went to where Sandy, his friend, was sitting in the congregation and motioned for Sandy to come with him. They went into the Bishop's office where Dr Hopkins aggressively adjusted Wendell's neck. They very quickly returned to the Sunday services. Wendell visited Dr Hopkins often in his office as a patient but this was a first for “A pig in the mire” situation. Wendell R Larsen, at age 80 this month, has freedom of movement without pain in his neck, because of his friend Sandy (Dr Hopkins). The two flattened spinus are no longer a problem. Chad Larsen son of Wendell and Ann Larsen said: Of the people I've known, he (Sanford Hopkins) was an honorable man; rare in this world; truly few.

Sandy is such a gentle soul. A humble man. Thank you for sharing his life. His friendly quiet ways did not reveal so many great accomplishments. He is a great asset, both her on earth and in heaven

I am so happy to have married into this wonderful family and to get to know "Uncle Sandy" over the years....When my husband Dave (nephew) and I would stay with Sandy and Shirley in Tucson when we would visit, I loved hearing him give that great big yawn every evening. It sounds silly but I loved that...I also loved reading the book his children dedicated to him. My favorite part was when one of the children said whenever Sandy would wake him up he would yell "It's gonna be a GREAT day!:" I loved that too....I am grateful to get to know this wonderful man, as well as Shirley...I am sure he is in the arms of loving hands...
