Obituary of Stewart Richard Palmer

With his family by his side, Stewart Richard (Dick) Palmer passed away on July 12, 2019. He is preceded in death by his amazing wife of 70 years Mary-Lou and his loving grandson Benjamin Jordan. He is survived by his children Nancy (Andy), Robin (David), Anne (Chuck), Jodie (Jim) and James (Martha) and many beautiful and wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren and new great great grandchild. Dick was born on March 16, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio to John Stewart and Margaret (Funk) Palmer. He lived in Ohio until moving to Tucson in 1954 to join his father-in-law in the mechanical engineering business. He became the owner in 1970 and retired in 2004. He proudly served as an officer in the Army and was a World War II veteran. He was involved in the community, state, and national organizations. He was active in Rotary for over 50 years, serving as president of the Catalina club and as District Governor, 1988-89. Services will be held September 7, 2019, 1:00 PM at St. Philips in the Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations of remembrance may be made to The Catalina Rotary Club for the Boys & Girls Club of Tucson, The Desert Museum or your favorite charity.
