Obituary of Robert Allen Huber

Robert (Bob) Allen Huber Born April 30, 1941 (78), Bob was called home to the Lord peacefully at home with his family on June 2, 2019 in Tucson, AZ. Bob's message to his loved ones is, "Be there, I'll be there to greet you!" Bob was the son of Jacob and Sarah (Edinger) Huber. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, LaVaun Seiler and her husband, Matt, Jane Krueger and her husband Donovan; and one brother-in-law Paul Goheen. He is survived by his wife, DeAnna (Fenhaus) Huber; one daughter, Melanie Ann (Huber) James and her husband, Chris; one son, Michael Allen Huber and his wife, Vanessa; three grandchildren, Mikayla, Alivia, Isaiah Huber; two brothers, Kenneth Huber and his wife, Jan, and Bruce Huber and; his wife Carmen; one sister, Jan (Huber) Goheen. Bob grew up on a farm in South Dakota and attended his first 2 ½ years of school in a one room school with one teacher teaching all eight grades. His family moved to a new farm over the Christmas holidays when he was in the 3rd grade. He then went to a "big city" school thru grade twelve. The "big city" school was in Selby, SD, a town of about 1,000 at the time. His high school graduation class consisted of a total of 17 students. Bob often bragged that he graduated in the "top 20" of his class! The farm was without electricity until Bob was in the 7th grade. He often said the reason he was so active in athletics was so he could get a shower at school. This farm never did have "running water" or a telephone. His parents never enjoyed the comforts of "indoor plumbing" and a phone until Bob was in college, and they purchased a different farm. Following high school graduation, Bob obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees. He spent a total of 18 years in education as a teacher, coach, principal, superintendent and college professor in SD, IL, AZ, and China. He also spent 22 years in the insurance industry in Tucson, AZ. Bob's wishes are that you not dwell on his death; rather, that you celebrate his victory over death because of God's mercy and belief that Jesus Christ died for Bob's sins. Bob was cremated and a celebration service will be held later this year at Shepard of Hills Lutheran Church in Tucson AZ.
