Leslie Merrill posted a condolence
It is nearly impossible to describe how much our relationship with Danny and Kathy has meant over the past 45 years. Kathy and I laughed together, cried together, shared our private thoughts and feelings. She and Dan were always there when needed and were "family" to us and to our daughters. They were surrogate grandparents to our first born grandson as his Papaw was traveling so much. When we were in Illinois and our daughter had emergency surgery in Tucson they picked her and her little son up when she was discharged from the hospital and cared for them. Kathy had the most beautiful unusual blue eyes and delicate lovely hands. We cherish our memories and her passing leaves such a hole in our lives as well as her own family. How very blessed we have been to have such a dear friend who was more like a sister. Danny is also like the brother Wylie never had. Our prayers for peace and comfort continue for Dan, Jeff and Jeri. Leslie and Wylie Merrill

Jeri, Jeff and "Dad", I am so sorry to hear about your loss of "Mom". She was so very kind and ever present in our lives as high schoolers. I have very fond memories of the time I spent at your home in SV and all the smiles she gave us. Please hug each other for me. Love always, Leish Weger

Lew & I are so sorry for your loss. Dan,friendly advice from 2 people who have experienced the loss of our mate. Take your time to heal because it does get easier. Remember the good times. Surround yourself with family and friends. Right now your feeling alone. The house is quiet and empty. Allow yourself to cry, it helps. Don't try to hide your grief. When someone ask how you're doing tell them that right now you're not ok. Dearest Jeri, Take care of yourself and your dad. If you feel like crying allow yourself that right. Time does help. Love dad and Sharon
