Obituary of Amalia Clark
Amalia Clark peacefully passed away at her home in Oracle, Arizona on May 20, 2019 at the age of 103.
Mollie "Amalia Ruiz" Clark was born in Tucson, Arizona, on March 18, 1916, to Macario and Francisca Ruiz (both deceased). She was married to Tom J. Clark and eventually settled in Oracle, Arizona. Mollie was preceded in death by her husband Tom and her daughter, Sherry Schwartz. She is survived by her children Delia (Dee) Draper and Tom Clark Jr.; her sisters Gloria Ruiz and Betty Knight and brother Arthur Ruiz; and her grandchildren Diana Anderson, Scott Draper, Margaret Cirinelli, Veronica Kidushim, John Schwartz, and Chris Schwartz. Her eleven great grandchildren include: Nathan Duft and Bella Draper, Joseph, Amanda, and Marc Schwartz, Jason, Michael, and David Kidushim, and Isabel, Lucy and Pearl Schwartz.

Mollie was involved in many community events. She was the Grand Marshal for the Oracle Parade and an active member of Saint Helen's Catholic Church where she taught children's Catholic doctrine classes. In 1977, she wrote and published her Sonoran Cook book entitled "Special Mexican Dishes", and taught at many of the cooking schools in Tucson. Her book was featured in the L.A. Times, and Tucson Daily news. It was extremely successful as it is today.
She will be remembered as a dedicated mother, author, educator, and inspiration to all who knew her for her kindness, generosity and tenacity. She had a positive attitude and taught us all to live life to its fullest.
Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Helen's Catholic Church in Oracle Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Church or charity of your choice.
