Obituary of William Albert Higgins
William Albert Higgins, 98, reposed peacefully in the Lord from his home in Tucson, AZ, among loved ones on April 25, 2019.
Bill was born August 22, 1920 in Thomaston, CT. He was married to Mary Louise Trainer, of Philadelphia, PA for 35 years; they had many spiritual children. In addition, to Mary Lou, Bill is survived by several nieces and one nephew, Raymond L. (Rhonda) Keller Jr., Kathleen (Gordon) Kida, Mary Anne (Martin) Pino, Patricia (Robert) Davis, Elizabeth (Dennis) Barnes, and 17 great nieces and nephews and 26 great great nieces and nephews.
Bill received his BS in Chemistry from John Carrol University in 1941. He attended Case Western Reserve and received his MS in 1948. Bill was a Navy veteran of World War II. Bill had a very successful career at Lubrizol, a multi-specialty corporation, where he worked from 1948 -1988. His expertise in business, technology, entrepreneurship and science led to the invention of 28 United States patents.
Services for Bill will take place Saturday, May 4th in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 5150 N Valley View Rd, Tucson, AZ 85718; Visitation from 9:30 - 10, Rosary at 10:00, and Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Reception to honor Bill will take place at Westin La Paloma Resort, 3800 E. Sunrise Dr. Tucson, AZ 85718, immediately following interment.
