Obituary of Irene Ida Silva

Irene Ida Silva (71), from Tucson, AZ, left this life on February 22, 2019 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Irene was born on June 23, 1947 in El Paso, TX. She grew up, married, and started her family in Las Cruces, NM, prior to moving to Tucson in January 1975. Irene was the beloved wife of Jimmy Silva for over 54 years and the mother of Kathleen Good (Kevin), Jimmy J. Siva (Lisa), and Lori Bryant. Irene is also survived by her Grandchildren Kiana Good and Kayla Brewer (Dustin); Matthew Thornburg (Elizabeth), Haley, Jade, and Jacob Silva; Britney and Trevor Bryant. Her Great Grandchildren Gavin and Jackson Thornburg; and siblings Rudy Reyes, Carmen Barceleau and Ofelia Marfil. Irene was proceeded in death by her parents Erminda and Manual Reyes, brother Sixto Reyes, sisters Cecilia Torres, Leonor Montoya, and Vickie Alvarado; and son-in-law Jason Bryant. After graduating from Mayfield High School ("beat them bulldogs"), Irene started a career at the Las Cruces International Airport where starting in the office, she was able to learn how to fly airplanes. After several years dedicated to raising her children, Irene also worked as a Bookkeeper for her church. Irene was a fashion trend setter who loved shoes and shopping! This was noted at the grocery store just as much as any other public event. She loved being with her family, attending baseball games, and the Dallas Cowboys! She was a very involved Mother and Grandmother. She loved the Holidays, loved to cook and bake and was always sharing her recipes with family and friends. Only thing she struggled with was burning the bread. Irene's faith in the Lord was strong. One of the last notes she wrote and placed on her refrigerator was, "I am healed in the name of Jesus!" and she loved spending time with family and friends at her church. We believe Irene's prayer was answered, and though she has passed from this life, Irene is healed and in the presence of Jesus. Visitation will be held on February 26, 2019 between 4 pm and 8 pm at Adair Funeral Home at 8090 N. Northern Ave. Oro Valley, AZ 85704. Service will be on Wednesday, February 27,2019 at Victory Worship Center, 2561 W. Ruthrauff Rd. at 1:00 pm. Reception following.
