Obituary of Ezra Lewis

Ezra H. "Buck" Lewis passed away peacefully at Casa de Luz Hospice in Tucson, Arizona on December 8, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Born in Savannah, Georgia to Ezra and Regis (Blitch) Lewis on November 26, 1930, Buck graduated Savannah High School in 1948 and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Armstrong Junior College in Savannah in 1950. He joined the Air Force and graduated from fighter pilot training May 1, 1953, just before the end of the Korean War. After serving in the Air Force, he moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he attended the University of Arizona an earned a bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering in 1958. He worked as a mining engineer and as a civil engineer, founding a company, Buck Lewis Engineering. He later founded Southwestern Utility Management, Inc. Buck was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Catherine (Winn), his second wife, Betty (Byfield) and her eldest son, Tom Byfield, and his third wife, Dorothy (Peenstra). He is survived by his children - Christopher, Jeffrey (Michelle), and Janet (Greg Wood), by Betty's children - Teddy, Todd, and Tracy, and by Dorothy's children - Clint (Gina) Loss and Teresa (Dave) Bustos. He is also survived by his close friend and business associate Bonnie O'Connor. He will be dearly missed by all! A memorial service for Buck will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 1:00PM at Adair Funeral Home's Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Avenue, Oro Valley, AZ, 85704.
