Obituary of Donald William Grutzius

Donald W. Grutzius, 91, of Tucson, AZ passed away on October 13, 2018. He was born in Steger, Illinois in 1926 to Henry and Viola Grutzius. He is preceded in death by his son, Dennis and his siblings, Sr. Mary Pauline, Richard, and Ken. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Yvonne, his daughters Linda ( Bob ), Laura ( Scott ), Terri, his son Don ( Cheryl ), his grandchildren, JR, Matthew, Bradley, Ryan, Madalyn, and his great granddaughter, Delilah. He served in the Navy from 1944 -1946. In 1970 he moved to Tucson and ran the KOA campground with 2 friends from Illinois. After selling it he worked for the City of Tucson as an equipment operator until his retirement in 1991. He was one of the founding members of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and was a member of the 50's plus club until his health declined. After his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife around the United States seeing all 50 states. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on October 31, 2018 at 10 AM. Private interment at Holy Hope Cemetery.
