Obituary of James LeRoy Harasha
James LeRoy Harasha, 88, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2018 in the comfort of his home in Tucson, Arizona surrounded by his family. Jim never complained during his 17 year battle against prostate cancer. He was born on May 29, 1930 in Lancaster, Wisconsin; he was the son of George and Clara Harasha. Jim was born & raised on the family farm. After high school, he joined the Navy and served during the Korean War. A GI bill afforded Jim the opportunity to return to Wisconsin and graduate from the Wisconsin School of Mines. He had a successful 40 year career as a mining engineer, which took him and his family to Virginia, New Mexico, and Arizona. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Ina and his children Michael James (Teri), Julie (Kent) Pollak, Jeff (Lisa), Greg (Sallie), Maria (Dan) Waring, and Paul (Lisa). He will also be fondly remembered by his 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, siblings Delores, Katherine, and Donna, sister-in-law Eilleen and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his siblings Peter, Ralph, Mary, and Fred. Jim enjoyed taking RV trips, being a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers, but his greatest passion was watching his children and grandchildren grow and become the special people they are today. He loved attending Mass with Ina every Sunday and joining their many friends for breakfast afterwards. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation can donate to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF.org) and/or Ann's Hope Foundation (AnnsHope.org).
