Obituary of Rodney Paul Hoskinson
HOSKINSON, Rodney Paul born November 6, 1946 in Independence, Kansas peacefully passed away on April 14, 2018. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie; her husband, Scott and granddaughters, Madison and Mackenzie of Kalispell, MT; son, Lawrence Paul of Tucson; friend, Tammy Hoskinson of Tucson; siblings, Marvin, Michael, Andrea, Vernon and Timothy, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Paul and Thelma Hoskinson; daughter, Vicki Lynne and brother, Gerald. Rod (aka Ron) served his country as a U.S. Marine and spent his career in the construction industry as a heavy equipment and plant operator. He loved his boats and said he would rather be racing across the lake in a boat than driving a truck any day. Ron loved spending his weekends with family and friends at Apache Lake, teaching kids to ski, boating and fishing with the Good Ol' Boys, or in Rocky Point cruising the dunes. He was a talented fabricator and loved building things out of metal. Ron was an avid sports fan he loved NASCAR, the Oakland Raiders, the Cardinals, and all things UofA. He will be most remembered for his humor, if he ever shook your arm silly or gave you a nickname, you knew he liked you. Ron was proud of his son, Larry, who joined the Operators Union and followed his footsteps into the heavy equipment career. Ron and his daughter Stephanie had developed a special relationship over the years that he was very grateful for. They shared a love of boating, sports, and racing, and enjoyed their talks of such. He enjoyed talking race cars with his son-in-law, Scott, and he was happiest when talking horses, FFA and softball with his granddaughters. The conversations were the highlight of his days, he loved his girls. A heartfelt thank you to those who loved and cared for him in his final days, to his special family at Aspen Care Home and Agape Hospice for all you gave to comfort him in his journey home. At his request, no services were held. ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel is caring for the family.
