Obituary of Esther Amelia Constantine
CONSTANTINE, Esther Amelia (Leyes), 104, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, April 22, 2018. She was born May 27, 1913 in Peru, Illinois to John Leyes and Louise Dietrich. She was married to William (Bill "Shorty") J. Constantine of LaSalle, Illinois. They had one daughter, Kathryn Louise Constantine. Esther was interested in, and played many sports. She was a member of the Hiking Club, a majorette for parades, and head marcher for the Senior Olympics Club at Far Horizons Tucson Village. She received several special citations for these events, and also for other events that she participated in and contributed to, at the Village. She walked every day, played cards, and was involved in many programs in the entertainment field there. She and her husband enjoyed many things together including family, friends, golf, dancing, and travel. Esther loved and enjoyed her life. She had many friends and kept very busy. Esther is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, her daughter, and one grandchild. She is survived by three grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren, 11 great-great- grandchildren, and two great- great-great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held.
