Obituary of Charles Richard Pepe
PEPE, Charles ("Charlie") Richard passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren nearby, in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 89, only a few weeks shy of his 90th birthday. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joan Francis Pepe, of Tucson, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his brother, Sidney Boucher Pepe; nephew, Michael Pepe; his mother Mina Matilda Pepe and his father Charles Grover Pepe of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was born on May 15, 1928, at Methodist Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He grew up on a farm, graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering, served in the army in Research and Development during the Korean Conflict, worked as a Farm Machinery Designer and a Field Engineer for a wire line company in the oil field. He spent 12 years traveling with an agricultural company visiting 46 of the 48 continental states, Hawaii, the Fiji Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Canada. He is survived by his children, Richard, Gerald, Denise, Sue and Mark, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He taught his children to grow things, fix things, to travel and to laugh and to love family and time together.
