Obituary of Thomas Raymond McWilliams
Thomas Raymond McWilliams, born October 22, 1934 in San Francisco, California, died unexpectedly on April 14, 2018. Tom graduated from Sir Francis Drake High in California and then went to the University of Colorado in Boulder where he met the love of his life, Nancy Bellows. From there he went to the University of Arizona and received his B.S., all the while working at Hughes aircraft. After graduation they moved to California for a job at San Fernando Valley State College. After 8 years they moved back to Arizona where Tom became the Assistant Comptroller at the University of Arizona and at times was acting Comptroller. He was also the business manager for the University Hospital for a period of time. Retiring from the U of A at 60, Tom became a CPA and worked on taxes for 19 years. In his younger years Tom was very active playing basketball in high school, skiing in Lake Tahoe, fly fishing the rivers of California and playing a hand or two of blackjack. He also loved to take his kids camping and taught his sons to dove hunt. Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nancy. He is survived by his three children, Debbie (Alan Moore), John (Lynda), and Todd, along with 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Tom will be greatly missed and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association will be welcomed. A service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Albans Episcopal Church, 3738 N. Old Sabino Canyon Road. Arrangements by Adair Dodge.
