Obituary of Giampaolo Fuggiti
Giampaolo Fuggiti was born July 20, 1936, in La Pieve Monte di Villa, Italy, to Amadeo and Alina Fuggiti (nee Ricci), the youngest of 5 boys. He immigrated to the United States in 1949 with his parents and two brothers and settled in Chicago, Il. He served in the United States Army, founded and worked at a family-owned lamp manufacturing company and met the wonderful woman who would later become his wife, Carla (nee Giolli). Giampaolo and Carla had two sons and one beautiful, intelligent daughter. In 1986 they permanently moved to Rio-Rico then Tucson, AZ to enjoy the sunshine. Giampaolo passed away on February 28, 2018 at the age of 81.
Giampaolo is survived by his loving wife, three kids; Dan (wife Isabel), Paul, and Alina (husband Andrés), 7 grandchildren; Jessica (22), Daniel (19), Gianluca (16), Elizabeth (13), Catalina (3), Alessandro (2) and Massimo (2), eldest brother, Sergio, and a plethora of loving family and friends.
Wake services will be held Sunday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Adair Funeral Home, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. Mass will be held Monday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church at 2727 N. Tangerine Road, Oro Valley with interment following at noon at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Road, at the mausoleum. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
