Obituary of Harmon G Harrison
HARRISON, Harmon G., M.D. age 93, passed away on February 11, 2018, in Tucson. He was born on July 24, 1924, in Kent, WA, and grew up in Port Angeles, WA. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII in the Pacific Theater and went to college after in Seattle, then medical school in St. Louis. He moved with his family to Tucson in 1961, working and serving the community for 56 years. In addition to his medical practice, Harmon was active in the Sabbar Shrine, where he was a Past Potentate, and a proud member of the Drum & Bugle Corps and Royal Order of Jesters. He was committed to the children's orthopedic and burn missions. Harmon was also a member of Aaron Lodge #49. He devoted countless hours to volunteer work for the Boy Scouts, St. Elizabeth Clinic, Square & Compass Clinic, Pima County Republican Club, St. Mark's Methodist Church, and other community organizations. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Mary; his sister, Marilyn; children, Tom, Carole, Ruth, Susan, Janet, Bob, Robyn, Susan, Norman and Mark, as well as several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His daughter, Jean greeted him in heaven. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Sabbar Shrine Temple, 450 S. Tucson Blvd., with a Viewing before at 10:30 a.m. and a reception following. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Sabbar Shrine Temple Transportation Fund, 520-624-2509.
