Obituary of Graciela A Castro

CASTRO, Graciela G. "Grace", of Green Valley, AZ, passed away at home November 12, 2017, surrounded by her family. Grace spent most of her life in Nogales, AZ, where she was born, and moved to Green Valley in 1993, to share a home with her sister, Jo Valencia. Grace managed the Nogales Western Union office until it closed in the mid-1970s. She then travelled around the southwestern United States representing the company, and later became Executive Assistant to the manager of Citizens Utilities. She was an active member of the Nogales River Cowbelles until the time of her death. The name "Grace" perfectly fit the kind, gracious, generous, stylish woman she was. She greeted everyone with her beautiful smile and remembered names, faces, and details about everyone she met. Grace considered many of her longtime friends as family. Grace is survived by her sister, Josephine "Jo" Castro Valencia of Green Valley, AZ, and brother, Nash Castro of Williamsburg, VA. Also surviving are 13 nieces and nephews including, Valerie Bridges of Green Valley, and Vanessa Rothstein of Tubac and 33 grandnieces and grandnephews, including Maia Rothstein and Elise Rothstein. She was predeceased by parents, Luis E. Castro and Ysidora Arellano Castro; sister, Esther Castro McCormick; brothers, Antonio, Luis C., and Daniel A. Castro; nephews, Henry David Valencia, and Jose Luis Castro; niece, Carolina Castro Vinikoor and grandniece, Nikita Castro. At Grace's request there will be a private interment. A Memorial Mass for friends and family to be announced at a future date. Memorial donations may be made in Grace's name to Peppi's House, TMC Foundation, 5301 E.
