Obituary of Marion Gin

GIN, Marion Wong died October 23, 2017 of end-stage Alzheimer's disease. A native Tucsonan born to Harry and Guadalupe (Salinas) Wong, she was a graduate of Pueblo High School and the University of Arizona. She spent over three decades teaching for Sunnyside Unified School District where she strove to find and bolster the strengths of each individual child, never hesitating to stay longer or work harder to make a difference in their educational lives. Marion was also an advocate for neglected and abused animals, rescuing many and giving them a loving home. She was generous to a fault and treated everyone with loving kindness, even when Alzheimer's disease had stolen her ability to recognize family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Frank Wong and her husband, William Gin. She is survived by her daughter, Amber Gin; her grandson, Noah Andrew Leonard; her sisters, Anna Bourret (Dennis), Marilyn Lee (her twin), Ginger Tang, Toi Wong, Susan Wong, Sharon Smith, Harrietta Hamel (Vic), and her brother, Anson Wong (Sharon); sister-in-law, Bernice Gin and brother-in-law, Lincoln Chin, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Site 17, 840 E. 17th Street, Tucson. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association and/or any vetted animal rescue group. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
