Obituary of Emmitt G. Warner

Emmitt G. Warner, born on October 26, 1930 in Tampico, Illinois went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 24, 2017. As a charter member of Desert Skies United Methodist Church, Emmitt had faithfully served for over 30 years on multiple church committees and groups to include "his baby" the Annual Church Flea Market. Emmitt's professional career consisted of 27 years in law enforcement, combatting illegal narcotic activities and organized crime. Emmitt also gave time to Tucson Metropolitan Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, The 6th Street Gym, Therapeutic Riding of Tucson and the Shrine Masons. Above all, the thing Emmitt was most proud of was his family. He often said "The very best thing I did in my life was to marry Andy (his late wife of 55 years)". They are survived by their three children, Christine Hartling (Tony), Mark Warner (Sonya), and Richard Warner (Missy); seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and scads of others we call "family". A celebration of Emmitt's life will take place at Desert Skies United Methodist Church, 3255 North Houghton Road, Tucson, AZ. on Saturday November 11, 2017 at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Desert Skies United Methodist Church in Emmitt's name.
