Obituary of Joanne B. Bennett

BENNETT, Joanne B. Born September 9, 1931 in Altadena, California passed away peacefully in Tucson on October 21, 2017. Joanne was raised in Laguna Beach by her mother, Mable and father, Ted Bennett. Joanne graduated from Laguna Beach High School in 1949, Occidental College in 1953, and received her Master of Education from the University of Arizona in 1971. Joanne worked as a teacher for Calabasas School, Reading specialist for Tucson Unified School District and Catalina Foothills School District. She was a member of P.E.O., Junior League, Angel Charity, Chairman to the St. Francis Chapel Restoration Fund Committee at St. Luke's, President of the Arizona Reading Association and President of the St. Luke's Board of Visitors. Joanne is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bill; her four children, Camille Salisbury, Will (Lorie), Ted (Patty) and Fred; sister, Nancy; along with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services and reception are being held at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church located at 4440 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson, AZ 85718, on Monday the 30th of October 2017, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the St. Francis Chapel Fund at St. Luke's Home.
