Obituary of Chester J.C. Ware
Mr. Chester J.C. Ware, of Oro Valley, AZ passed away on Wednesday, October 4th, 2017 at the age of 80 years old.
Chester was born to parents Chester and Laura Ware on October 22, 1936 in San Diego, CA. He grew up as the eldest of three children and attended San Diego high school. In 1955, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served over twenty distinguished years. Chester retired from the U.S. Airforce in 1975. He went on to work for the United States Treasury Department, where he worked for the Internal Revenue Service for over seventeen years in various management positions. Chester earned his Bachelors of Science and his Master's degrees in Psychology from the University of the Philippines.
In retirement, Chester remained very active and graciously gave back to his community. He served on the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations such as The Foster Child Agency, served as President, director and member of Southern Arizona Chapter of Enrolled Agents, practiced real estate in the greater Tucson area, and successfully ran his tax business with his wife and partner Hope.
Chester is survived by his loving wife Hope Ware; his five children, Stephen Ware, Kelly Ware-Butler (Husband Charles), Cessanie Smith, Eric Ware, and Michael Ware; two step sons, James Matheny (wife Elizabeth) and William Matheny; his sister Hattie Enge; his nieces, Kim Bridges, Lauri Cober, Sophia Ware, Christina Ware, and Topaz Ware; his nephew, Clem Ware Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and grand-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Laura Ware, and his brother Clem Ware.
A memorial service will be held at Adair Funeral Homes Avalon Chapel, located at 8090 N. Northern Avenue, in Oro Valley. The service will be held on October 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Ware's life.
