Obituary of Rebecca C Escalante

Rebecca C. Escalante, 79, of Tucson, went home to be with her Lord on September 10, 2017. She was born in Tucson on April 19, 1938 to Ramon and Enriqueta (Ainza) Carranza. She attended Tucson High School and Pima Community College and later retired from the Tucson Unified School District after 20 years in Library Services. She married Miguel V. Escalante on September 27, 1958 and to this union three children were born—Mike Jr., Eloina, and Rosalva. Mike Jr., now deceased, has an adult son, Christopher, of New Paris, Indiana, who is married to Mary Claire. Eloina Saldivar and her husband, Richard, have two adult children, a son, Nathaniel, and a daughter, Elisa Vaughn (Robert), all reside in Tucson. Rosalva Zimmerman and her husband, John, have one adult son, Andrew, who is married to Kiaya and they live in Lakeside, Arizona. Rebecca has five great grandchildren, Andre, Melina, Robbie, Myah, and Liam. She loved to read, enjoyed sitting in her courtyard, and spending time with family. She was an artist who enjoyed experimenting with various mediums to express her creative spirit and she was also a gifted singer who loved harmonizing with her husband. She was an extraordinary woman of God, filled with grace and dignity, who touched many lives with her generosity and loving manner. Her life was a reflection of her Savior's goodness and she always sought ways to point people to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rebecca is survived by her husband of nearly 59 years and their two daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, and her son. Though she left this earth far too soon, her legacy of faith lives on in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. There is now no more pain and no more endless treatments, only joy in having stepped into eternity in the welcoming arms of Jesus who surely has rewarded her with the crown of righteousness for having fought the good fight, having finished her race, and having kept the faith through it all. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10am at the Calvary Chapel located at 5170 S. Julian Drive in Tucson. Her son-in-law, Rev.
