Obituary of Burt Howard Morgan
MORGAN, Burt Howard Was born February 7, 1924 to Burt and Mollie Morgan, and left us 93 years later, on June 18, 2017. He was born in Winkelman, AZ and was a lifelong resident of Arizona. Howard went to the UofA, where he played freshman basketball. His education was interrupted by his service in WWII, where he spent two and a half years in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. Howard met his future wife, Monta Carol Gardner, in Sonoita, AZ. They were married September 7, 1946. Howard worked in the construction trade, first as a heavy equipment operator and later as an estimator. He was always involved in ranching and rodeo as a sideline. Howard and Monta Carol spent many of their summers traveling once he retired. Their favorite vacation was a tradition they started over 30 years ago, a yearly camping trip to the White Mountains, with all of the kids and grandkids. Later, Howard's passion was braiding and mesquite woodworking. Everything he made was a labor of love. Howard is preceded in death by Monta Carol, his wife of 67 years. Howard is survived by three children, all of Tucson, Del (Ellen) Morgan, Hal Morgan and Teri (Mark) Thomas; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Tucson at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Burt Howard Morgan to Casa de la Luz Hospice, 5830 N.
