Obituary of Alexandra Aurora Serilla
SERILLA, Alexandra Aurora, 66, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on June 21, 2017 after a long battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia. A service commemorating the beautiful life of Alexandra will be held at 6:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, on Thursday, July 6, 2017. A Reception will follow the Service at 2803 E. 8th Street, Tucson, Arizona 85716. Alexandra was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on June 23, 1950. She was married to James Serilla on December 12, 1998. Alexandra received a Master's degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Arizona and taught for many years in the Tucson Unified School District. She enjoyed hiking around Tucson and swimming, especially in the ocean, and loved caring for animals. First and foremost, she loved her family. Alexandra is survived by her spouse, James Serilla; her daughter, Christina Fugate; son-in-law, Kevin Fugate and grandchildren, Caleb and Benjamin Fugate; her son, David Sellars; her sister, Deborah Gutierrez; brother-in-law, Hernan Gutierrez and their children, Veronica, Juan Carlos and Ana Lorena; her brother, Gustavo Zuniga and his children, Xavier, Katerina and Felipe. Alexandra is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Sellars; her mother, Ana Zuniga and her father, Jose Zuniga. The family wishes to thank Terry Ryan and all the employees of Eternal Life Care Home in Tucson, Arizona for providing amazing love and care to Alexandra over the last several years and up to her death.
