Obituary of Gildardo E. Barajas

Gildardo E. Barajas Born June 16, 1928 was taken to heaven on June 29, 2017. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Fedelina R. Barajas, sons Jimmie and Ron; daughters Veronica (Gene) and Diane (Bobby); eight grandchildren; Yvette (Richard Jr.), Carl, Erica, Ethan, Daniel, Natasha, Alexandra (Stephen) Ronald "The 2nd" and four great-grandchildren; Richard III, Isabella, Elijah and Josiah. Gildardo enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. Out of 200+ soldiers in his 1ST battle with the North Korean Soldiers, Gildardo was one of the twenty-six who survived. After he returned, he married and started his family. Gildardo worked construction and attended barber school. He used his barber skills cutting his sons and grandsons hair and offered free haircuts to the neighborhood children. While he was supporting his family, he earned his GED. He then began his career at the United States Postal Service where he later retired. Gildardo was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather (Papa) and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed. Fly your kite high Papa! We love you! Viewing and rosary will be held on Friday July 7, 2017 at St. Frances Cabrini from 9:00 am with rosary starting at 9:30am, services to follow. Gildardo will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery.
