Obituary of Donald L. Wilson

Donald L. Wilson, 81 years old - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Friday, May 12, 2017. Don was retired from Department of Corrections as Chief Maintenance office. Do n and Sharon spent quite a bit of their retirement time RVing with friends. They loved to visit new places and also return to favorite places. They also loved spending time with their blended families at their home and the homes of children and grandchildren. Don's childhood years were on a small ranch in Elgin, Arizona. This was some of the happiest times of his life. He loved riding to school on his horse Buck and working on the ranch. Later he spent some of his time going back and forth to San Antonio, Texas to be with his dad. He went to high school at Amphitheater High. After high school Don married Ellen with whom he had four children. After Ellen passed away, he spent several years a bachelor until he met Sharon. They married in 1996 and were together until his death. Don is survived by his wife Sharon, daughters Janet (Tom), Debora (Larry), Loralee and Mark (Sheree). He is also survived by his stepson Bill (Marsha) and stepdaughter Chrissie (David) as well as 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild as well as many wonderful friends. All will miss him so much. Don's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday, May 20th at 11:00 in the sanctuary of Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene.
