With Bill's passing the world loses a giant - a scientist, mentor, educator, and builder. Although it is sad that he finally succumbed to the diseases of age, celebrate the extraordinary man he was. Few have had his impact; his kindness was wonderful. I am one of those that have a mineral named after me because of Bill's work. I will never quite understand why he was so kind to me - I had little I could give him back, yet his friendship was freely extended.

We will look back on 40 years of sharing stories with Bill at various mineral shows. We will surely miss him. Wayne and Bill shared a passion for rare books and their conversations always drifted in that direction. One could learn so much just listening to Bill talk about minerals. He will be missed by many around the world.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. It is not an easy thing for any of us to go through. This bible scripture at Revelation 21: 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Along with this website at http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/lv/r1/lp-e/0/22695 has comforted me and and many others. This web site answers a lot of life's biggest questions from the Bible including the loss of our loved one and will we see them again? I hope this brings your family some comfort as it has mine.

Our deepest condolences. Bill was such a kind man. When we heard this sad news, we were in the mineral section of the smithsonian museum of natural history, no doubt admiring Bill's own, dazzling collection. Sending our love and prayers.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Bill's passing. We have been friends and neighbors of Bill and Jackie for almost 16 years. Bill was always smiling and was always willing to share his love of gems and minerals. We loved him and we will miss him deeply. Our sincere condolences to Jackie and the Pinch family.
