Obituary of Michael Miller Harpold
HARPOLD, Michael Miller 67, of Tucson passed away suddenly on March 15, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Virginia and their two sons, Zachary and Adam, along with his beloved pup, Chaco and numerous nieces, nephews and siblings-in-law. Michael grew up in Dallas, TX, graduated from TCU and received his PhD from Tulane University. He was a gifted and passionate neuroscientist who worked in the biotech industry for many years. Michael had a deep personal interest in understanding cognition and consciousness leading him to ultimately focus on Down Syndrome research. He was an avid fisherman, tennis player, book collector and raconteur with a laugh that would light up the room. Michael touched so many people with his authentic and unique style and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held in Tucson on Saturday, June 3, 2017.
