Obituary of Philip Hector C. Hansen

HANSEN, Philip Hector C, of Tucson, AZ Hector was born on Oct. 21, 1927 in Tucson, AZ. On March 5, 2017, he lost his battle to a series of serious health issues that escalated in severity the past several years. Hector graduated from Tucson High in 1946. It was at Tucson High where he met Stella Delgado (from the class of '47) who would become his soulmate and the love of his life. A few years later, in 1949, they would begin dating. Stella & Hector married in 1950. They knew they were blessed and fortunate to be able to celebrate 66 years of marriage this past November. After serving in the Army after high school, Hector soon found employment with Southern Pacific Railroad until he began his career with the Tucson Fire Department in 1953, where he retired as an Assistant Chief in Dec. 1976. Hector co-wrote the report for the Pioneer Hotel Fire in 1970. While balancing his time as a husband to Stella and father of two boys, Hector also found time for community involvement where he was active in the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Hector later worked in security for IBM (where he went by Phil) for a decade until 1979. Hector will be remembered as a kind, loving, humorous, and compassionate family man that loved to dance. He will be missed. Hector was predeceased by his wife Stella this past January; he is survived by his sons Gary and Mark (Yihua), granddaughter, Samantha (TW) great grandson, Cayden, and sister, Irene Acuna of Tucson. Like Stella, Hector also passed on the 5th of the month, also at 9 minutes after the hour. No surprise, the services at Adair Dodge for both Hector & Stella are scheduled for the 5th of April at 11:09adairfuneralhome@msn.comAM, followed by services at Holy Hope and a celebration of life.
