Obituary of Anita Southard

SOUTHARD, Anita, March 6, 2017, age 85. Anita Southard was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and raised in Brandon, South Dakota. As a young woman, she served in the United States Air Force; during which time she met her husband, Henry "Hank" Southard who preceded her in death. She is survived by her three children and their families. She is also survived by many other cherished family member and longtime friends. Our family is very grateful to the Caregivers and Staff of Friendship Villas for their loving care and kindness. Anita was also graced over a three-year period by precious friendships with her fellow residents. In addition; we are extremely grateful for the Compassionate End of Life Care that was gently provided by Casa De Las Luz Hospice. Many thanks to Dr. Powell and Dr. McDonald and Geri Mealanie as well as the nurses and staff for their help with Anita's peaceful transition. In accordance with Anita's wishes; services will be private. Anita and Hank were both proud USAF veterans.
