Obituary of Sylvia M Miller

MILLER, Sylvia M. 80, of Tucson went to be with her Lord and Savior February 22, 2017 surrounded by her family at Casa de la Luz Hospice. Sylvia was born January 23, 1937 to Elmer and Ruth (Taylor) Rasmussen. She married Ken Miller April 6, 1957 at Onawa. They lived in MI and SD before moving to Tucson in 1979. Sylvia made a career working for several grocery stores, making lifelong friends. She and Ken were avid card players, playing with friends weekly for years. Her 80th birthday was made complete with an evening of cards with her family. Ken succumbed to cancer in 2004. Sylvia began a new career as hostess at Applebee's where she became a popular personality for many years. She married Richard Plank of Tucson in 2008. With his help she was able to fight cancer for two years. She is survived by her husband and faithful caregiver, Dick, passing away one day before their 9th anniversary; daughter, Kathy and Glenn Fallwell; son, David and Lorri Miller; her most special people, grandchildren, Cory and Alyssa Fallwell, Michael Miller and special friend, Stephanie, Amber Miller and special friend, Justin; two sisters, Ione of Longview, TX and Barb and husband, Frank of Castana, IA; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law in the midwest; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Those passing before, husband, Ken; her parents, a sister, Sandy and two nephews. The family would be pleased for you to join them for services and refreshments at Capilla del Sol Church, 3130 W, Overton, Tucson, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be sent to the church or Ronald McDonald House.
