Obituary of Mildred Lorraine Boykin

Tucson: Mildred Lorraine Boykin , ( Nee Ricigliano) a longtime resident of Tucson, died Thursday , October the 27th, at Casa de la luz. She was 91 years old. Born April 28th, 1925 in Brooklyn , New York, Millie, as she preferred to be known, grew up as one of six children. She worked as switchboard operator at an insurance company in Manhattan, where she met her husband Matthew Anthony Boykin. They married June 16th, 1950 and had two daughters. Millie was a stay at home mother, eventually returning to work at the Staten Island savings bank, now known as the SI Bank and trust. There she started out as a part time switchboard operator, but soon worked her way up through management. During her time at the bank, Millie attended finance college in Manhattan over a 4- year period. She was rewarded for her strong work ethic when she retired from the bank as a senior bank manager. Millie and her husband retired to Tucson in 1987. Millie loved socializing and belonged to many different activity groups, enjoyed good friends and food, going to the movies, plays,card parties and wine tasting. She went to the gym regularly and loved to travel. Her greatest joy came from being with her daughters and their families, who also lived in Tucson. Millie will be remembered by fer family and friends as someone who loved to laugh and believed that laughter was the key to a long, happy and productive life. Her favorite saying was to tell her grandchildren to " do good" in all things in life. Millie is preceded in death by her husband Matthew. She is survived by her daughters Linda Aguirre ( Robert Aguirre) and Karen Woods ( Brent Woods), grandchildren Lindsay Baroody, Korie Hadler (Adam Hadler) and Mathew Poulton and great grandchildren Mason Baroody and Ruby Hadler. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on November the 11 at Saint Odilia's Catholic Church, 7570 N Paseo Del Norte in Tucson.
