Obituary of Frederick Albert Workman
Fredrick Albert(Fritz) Workman.
Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania November 13, 1931; passed away July 28, 2016. Predeceased by his parents Fredrick L Workman and Mary Francis Workman and brother Robert H Workman. Survived by his wife Nancy Robinson Workman to whom he was married for 63 years, daughters Janie Workman(Jacob Bercu), Linda Gregory(Timothy) and Kathy Shahin(Darrell), grandchildren Michael and Steven(Nicole) Gregory and Matthew(Elyse), Jackie and Eric Kircher, and great-grandson Theodore Kircher. Also survived by siblings Edwin, James, Mary Alice and Sara along with many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his brother-in-law William Robinson. He was a military veteran serving five years in the Navy, including ten years of active duty in Korea during the Korean conflict. On return from service, Fred met and married the love of his life, Nancy. They celebrated 63 years of marriage n Mach of this ear Fred enrolled in night school at the University of Pittsburgh and received his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1961 while working full time. He also participated in the Pitt marching band, playing the sousaphone. Various job transfers eventually brought them to Tucson. He was a very active member of the Tucson East Elks Lodge for 35 years of the 50 years he was in the Elks, and served as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the South District of Arizona. Fred was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Beacon Lodge in New York and charter PER of the Wappingers Falls New York Lodge. He was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church for 35 years. He leaves behind family members who were made much richer for being a part of his life, and he will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held Monday August 1st at 11am at the Elks Lodge, 619 S Pantano Rd, Tucson. Donations may be made to the Arizona Elks Major Projects or to the charity of your choice.
