Obituary of Nancy Ruth Armstrong
ARMSTRONG, Nancy Ruth went peacefully to be with Our Lord on July 21, 2016, surrounded by friends and family. Nancy was born to Leo and Maybelle (Taylor) Paul in Coldwater, MI on March 7, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Armstrong. She is survived by her children, David of Tucson; Steve (Teri) of Assen, Netherlands; Susan of Tucson; Bruce of Chandler; and her treasured grandchildren, Kevin Piña, Kimberly Piña, and Siera Armstrong. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Ann (Dean) Brown and brothers, Dennis (Betty) Paul and Mitchell (Pat) Paul and brother-in-law, Lavon Armstrong. Nancy graduated from Western Michigan University and taught grades 1-6 in a rural schoolhouse. She married her soulmate in 1955 and they moved to Tucson in 1956 to begin their wild-west adventure. She embraced the desert lifestyle and enjoyed camping, reading, learning about most anything, traveling the world (Australia, Japan, Africa and most states in the U.S.) and volunteering (UA Cooperative Extension and Girl Scouts). A Celebration of her Life is planned for Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES in Oro Valley. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Girl Scouts of Southern AZ, UA College of Ag&Life Sciences Cooperative Extension or charity of choice .
