Obituary of Thomas Aaron Ford

FORD, Thomas Aaron Jr., born July 4, 1927, in Kaleva, Michigan, died from cancer on June 18, 2016, in Tucson, Arizona on his 67th Wedding Anniversary. Tom was a loving husband, father, and grandpa who was always very involved with his family and their activities. Tom served in the Navy in WWII, and his life's work was with the U.S. Public Health Service/Indian Public Health Service. Tom worked with the Boy Scouts for many years for which he received the Lamb Award. He loved being outside on the water, hiking, or flying his glider and plane. He was a compassionate man who was involved with 1980/90 Sanctuary and Pastors for Peace. He also did mediation work with the County Attorney's Office, and many other forms of social outreach within the community. His wife, Jacquelyn; daughters, Vicki and Sharon and her husband, Michael; and his five grandchildren, Will, James, Becky, Erin, and Hannah survive him. His two sons, Tommy and Randy, precede him in death. A Service to Celebrate his Life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Casa Adobes Congregational Church, 6801 N. Oracle Rd. Donations may be made to the University of Arizona Aphasia Scholarship Fund, Speech and Hearing Department, 1131 E. 2nd St., Tucson, AZ 85721-0071. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel.
