Obituary of Dorothy F Schaller

SCHALLER, F. Dorothy "Dot" (1919 - 2016) Dot passed away peacefully on July 18, 2016. She was born December 23, 1919 to the late Charles and Delia Pierce. Dot is preceded in death by her husbands, Walter (Red) Monaghan and Richard (Dick) Schaller; son, Robert (Bob) Schaller and five siblings. Dot is survived by her daughters, Dottie (Larry) Tabacchi, Barbara (John) Hines, Debbie (widow of Bob) Schaller, Beth (Cort) Sedlock; grandchildren, Tina, Gina, Antonio, Giovanni, Jason, Justin, Amy, Monte, Gabriel, Anthony and great-grandchildren, Declan, Cormac, Ava, Vivian, Lucia, Vita, Sadie, Jayden and River. Dot married her high school sweetheart, Red, in their hometown of Fitchburg, Massachusetts and they had a daughter, Dottie. Red died in the Battle of the Bulge after enlisting to serve his country. She met her second husband, Dick, when his Navy ship was decommissioned in Boston. They were married and raised their family in his hometown of Tucson. Dot was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish and worked at Salpointe High School. A loving wife, mother and Nanny, her tenacious spirit and infectious laugh will be missed by all. Services will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8650 N. Shannon Rd., Tucson on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Casa de la Luz Foundation, 7740 N. Oracle Road, Tucson, AZ 85704.
