Obituary of Merle Theodore Gustafson

Merle Theodore Gustafson (Gus) went home to be with The Lord on July 4, 2016. He was born June 17, 1935 in Hardin MT to Glen and Alpha Gustafson. He shared 59 years of marriage with his loving wife, Brenda and together raised two children, Gerry and Laurel. Gus brought joy and friendship to everyone he met, always sharing a smile and a kind word. Gus was a Montana Highway Patrolman and instructor at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy. He enjoyed fishing and camping in the mountains of Montana, traveling in the RV, woodworking projects, and working with his hands. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; his son Gerry; his daughter Laurel Riek; grandchildren Anthony and Nathan Riek; his brother, Burt Gustafson; and his brother-in law, Gary Stoll. A memorial service will be held at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
