Obituary of Chris Hershberger

HERSHBERGER, Chris lost his two year battle with cancer on June 10, 2016. When we love someone, we give a part of ourselves to that person and when they are gone, that piece of us goes with them, leaving us incomplete in their absence. That loss is the price of love. It is hard to know what to say about a person once they are gone. What I do know is that we lost one of the great ones. He was loved deeply by many and he loved them all deeply in return. To quote the great Yogi Berra, "Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty great too!" Anyone who knew Chris would understand the reference. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. For those of us left behind, the game must go on, knowing that we are better for the time we had together with him. Chris is survived by his wife, Liz; their children, Kyle (Nina Hershberger) and Lindsay (Trevis Hairston); his mother, Freddy Hershberger; his brother, Pete Hershberger (Jill Martindale); his sister, Leslie Lohmeier (Frank); his sister, Natalie Ronstadt (Paul) and most of all there is MARIA, his granddaughter, the love of his life. There will be a Celebration of Life in his honor to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to Casa de La Luz Foundation for their kind support in a difficult time. Special thanks to Grace Quiroz for her loving care.
