Obituary of Ruth Ann Wood

WOOD, Ruth Ann 77, born in Rockport Kentucky November 11, 1938 to Imogene and John Wilson. she passed away April 19, 2016. Ruth was a loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt, and grandma. she brightened our lives with her smile, tenderness and genuine hugs. Nothing was more important to her than family. A gentle and forgiving soul...a true lady. Ruth graduated from South Eastern High School in Detroit Michigan and went to work at Wayne state University. She moved to tucson to join her mother, sister (Mariah Majeske), and Marian's family. Ruth modeled for Flair Parisiene Modeling Agency, volunteered at the USO and worked at John B. Wright Elementary School and Hughes aircraft. This where she met her husband Richard Wood. Ruth is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard Wood; children, Pam Palakovich (Ed), Jill Manjarre (Eddie), Kevin Wood (Tina), Heather Lynch (Larry); grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew Palakovich, Blaine, Brianna, Cameron, Caitlin Manjarre, Audriana, Austin, Tyler Wood, Ryan, Stephen, Joseph, Luke, Hop, Liam Lynch. Special thank you to TMC Hospice and Provencio Hope Care Home for their tremendous love and support. Memorial Service honoring Ruth's beautiful life will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel. 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. In lieu of flowers; memorial donations may be made to Desert Southwest Chapter/Southern Arizona Region of the Alzheimer's Association .
