Obituary of Ann Elaine Stern

Ann Elaine Stern, born August 12, 1936 in Corning, New York and longtime resident of Tucson, Arizona died May 05, 2016. Ann was a lifelong nurse, and always took great pride in caring for others. She had a special soft spot in her heart for all her four-legged friends. Ann will be forever remembered by children, Kathi McNamara (Tom) and Brian Jenson. She was loving grandmother to Michael McNamara, Trevor McNamara (Jessica), Richard Cross, Kelly Bielke, Jeremy Sherwood (Beth) and Cody Sherwood (Tiffany) and great grandmother to 14 (including one on the way!) and one great, great grandchild. Ann suffered tremendous loss in her life, most recently her daughter Kimberly Ann Sherwood. Ann, often referred to as MomAnn, was an instrumental figure in the lives of many. She was a kind-hearted woman who never gave up on those she loved. The people whose lives she touched will always be thankful for the support she gave them at their lowest times as well as the many life lessons she taught them. We take comfort in knowing that she will be rewarded for all of her sacrifices and we will miss her beautiful smile. Following the loss of her daughter, Mom shared this thought: "Faith is not about everything turning out okay. It is being okay about how things turn out. It takes a lot of work, but it is what I am trying to do, and I hope you all can too. " Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, May 09, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Adair Dodge Chapel located at 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716 and a Memorial Mass celebrating Ann's life on Thursday, May 12 at 3:00 pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church located at 1800 North Camino Pio Decimo, Tucson, AZ 85715.
