Obituary of Nicholas Trejo Esparza

Nicholas Trejo Esparza 59, born November 13, 1956, passed away on March 10, 2016 peacefully after suffering a stroke. His family, including his partner, Yong Ferrell and his siblings were by his side as he was raised to heaven and joined his parents Leo and Connie Esparza. He is survived by siblings, Gigi Hinton, Casey Pfordt (David), Sam Esparza (Jennifer), Marta Holl (Bob) and Candace Esparza (Lisa McFall). Nick enjoyed a full and colorful life, always upbeat, you could count on him for a good joke or poignant story. As the eldest of the Esparza kids, Nick had a different perspective on a tale, and of course it was always fun to hear him tell it. If he wasn't telling a story, he was living another legendary adventure, which usually included lots of fun followed by a lot of laughter. He chose to follow in our father's footsteps as an automobile man, which made our dad so proud. They had a special bond and often had deep personal conversations. A graduate of the University of Arizona, he was a loyal Wildcat fan and could weave stories of being a little boy and sitting in the "knothole" section watching a football game or late night parties at the pool area in the company of his lifelong friends. Nick left us too soon and we long to hear one more story. Nickle, as he was lovingly called, understood his place as "number one" and embraced it, he led our family. He could give an eloquent toast, thoughtful words of gratitude or a thankful praise at the perfect moment. He always honored Mom and Dad and his place at the head of the table will not soon be filled. While Nickle did not have any children, he found paternal love in Heaven and Mikayla Ferrell, they called him "Tata", and he called them the loves of his life. Proudly, they were "his girls" and filled his life with joy. He was equally proud of all of his nieces and nephews, Stephanie Esparza (Robby), Sarah Ells (Tyler) and Ben Esparza, Michael Goodwin (Brittany), Amie Lee (PJ), Claire Goodwin, Chaz and Kat Pfordt, and great-grandnephew, Carter Lee. Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend our sweet Nickle will be deeply missed and remembered daily in our hearts and prayers. Please join us as we celebrate his life - Visitation: Sunday, March 13, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Tucson, AZ. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2016 at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 7570 North Paseo Del Norte
