Obituary of Harold Ray Reed
REED, Harold Ray died at his home in Tucson, Arizona on February 23, 2016 at the age of 70 following a diagnosis of liver cancer. At the time of his death he was a retired law enforcement officer. Mr. Reed, born March 22, 1945 was the son of Ruth Sutton of Dodge City, Kansas. He married Ellen (Stansbury) September 18, 1999. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Howard Sutton. Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Ellen; his son, Michael (Heather) of Florida; daughter, Jen Jewell (JJ) of Arizona, and three grandsons, Jack and Alex Jewell and Ryder Reed; nephew, Rodney (Lynn) Sutton; nieces, Marsha Traylor, and Deb (Larry) Craghead. Mr. Reed donated his body for medical research. Mr. Reed was a graduate of Dodge City High School in 1963 and received a BA degree in Criminal Justice from Wichita State University. He retired from the Wichita Police Department after 21 years of service. He then was a Parole Officer for the Kansas Department of Corrections from 1989 to 2005. Cremation services provided by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Tucson, AZ. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita, Kansas at 1:00 p.m. Final internment will be in Ensign, Kansas.
