Obituary of Robert A Meade
Maj. Robert A. (Bob) Meade, III 11/5/1940 - 2/16/2016 The beloved son of Dr. Robert and Virginia Meade was born in London, WV. He was a graduate of WVSC and the U. of Alabama (BA, MA), and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi. His 20 year service in the US Army was followed by a second career as a Training Manager at Raytheon Missile Systems. Preceded in death by his parents and Sherby, loving wife of 37 years, he is survived by his son, Bruce; sister, Linda; niece, Amina; great-nephews, Kairen and Josiah; loving cousins, special friend Jennifer, and many close friends. Bob was a strong, kind, gentle, intelligent, reserved man of substance, with many interests, a wicked sense of humor and style, and a sly smile. He was an avid nature photographer and an accomplished musician. He captured unique and beautiful images worldwide, and performed on bass clarinet with the Desert Aires Clarinet Choir, Sonora Winds, and Foothills Phil Orchestra. Bob passionately lived and loved his full life. He has "slipped the surly bonds of earth… to touch the face of God", and is greatly missed by his loving family and friends. The Sonora Winds will dedicate a public concert at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 East Adams, Tucson, to his memory. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, AVALON CHAPEL.
