Obituary of Aida R Garcia

Aída R. García 94, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016. Born April 14, 1921 in New Orleans, LA. She was the daughter of Margot Samperio and Aaron Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Calixto García-Iñiguez; her brother, August Rodriguez; her sisters, Grace Wieneke and Mary Ramczyk. She is survived by her daughter, Aída (Ruben); three grandsons, Francisco-Calixto, Ruben and Leonel. Aída graduated from the UofA with a degree in Fine Arts and a Master in Education. She taught Art at Eloy Junior High for 20 years and was a substitute for TUSD. She was a "lady of intelligence, elegance, beauty and grace" who gave of herself unselfishly to others. Aída will be greatly missed. She loved her dogs, Stacy and Q-Tip and wishes that donations be made to the Humane Society in their names. Memorial Services will be held at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016 at St. Kateri Tekakwit Church at 507 W. 29th St., Tucson AZ. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel .
