Obituary of Constance Coghlan
Constance Perri Coghlan 80, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2015, surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Connie (Jerry) McCollow and Cathy (Keith) Hausmann; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Jane Perri and many other family members and friends. Preceeded in death by her husband, Franklin R. Coghlan (August 10, 2005); son, Francis J. Coghlan (July 2, 2004), brother, Frank J. Perri, Jr. and parents, Frank and Costanza Perri. Constance graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a BA in French (1957); then obtained a MS in Secondary Education from Fordham University (1959). She would later return to school and earn her Special Education Certification in Learning Disabilities (1980). She taught at Fickett Junior High from 1980-1996. Constance was a strong Christian woman of great faith, who dedicated her life to her family and friends. She was an outstanding mother and grandmother who handled life's situations with strength and courage. Many thanks to all of her caregivers throughout her struggle with cancer for the past four years. Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 8650 N. Shannon Rd. Entombment to follow in Holy Hope Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2015, at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., with Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m.
