Obituary of Robert Milton Coons

Robert Milton Coons died peacefully on November 15, 2015, in Tucson, AZ. Bob was born in Troy, NY on January 18, 1922, to Vivian M. and Claude E. Coons. He and his wife moved to Tucson, AZ in 1986 from Rochester, NH. Preceding him in death were his parents, his precious wife of 65 years, Elizabeth "Betty" and their eldest son, Wayne. Bob is survived by his sons, Douglas of Dover, NH, Mark (Karen) of Hanover, PA and Stephen (Karen) of Tucson; grandchildren, Rebecca (Brent) Reeves and Robert D. Coons; great-grandchildren, Zachary Reeves and Addison Reeves and dear friend, Helen Perkins. Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. After the war, he owned and operated a dairy in Troy, NY and, later, a motel and apartments in Rochester, NH. His sons will be forever grateful for his love of them and for his love and devotion to their mother for over 65 years. The family wishes to thank the staff at Casa de la Luz Hospice and the owner and staff of Canyon View Adult Care Home for their loving care and kindness. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway, Tucson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Garden at the Catalina United Methodist Church, the Patient Assistance Fund at the Arizona Cancer Center, or thecharity of your choice .
